Looking for opinions on tractor insurance. I bought a new 2210 and am looking to get it and the attachments insured. Is this something that can be added to the homeowner's policy or is a stand alone policy best?

On the homeowner's, you'll have to check with your agent. Some you can add the tractor with no addional cost. Some you have to add a rider and cost extra.

John Deere offers one that will cover whatever you bought, if you financed through them. It's a $500 deductable that works just like auto insurance except there's NO liability coverage. This is the route I took, since it was cheaper than adding it to my farm policy. I doubt you could get it now, if you already signed the finance papers. Might be worth checking into, if your homeowner's won't insure it or they are too high. The premium on my tractor and FEL ($23,300) is $272 for 5 years worth of coverage.

I checked with my Allstate agent a couple of years ago, and my JD 445 and other lawn equipment is covered under my homeowners insurance. $272.00 from JD for 5 years coverage sounds like a pretty good deal however.
